Five Retrofit Packages. One Honest Recommendation.

Every package starts with a diagnostic and follows the same rule: identify what's there, seal the air paths first, then insulate to a target the assembly can actually hold. All of it delivered by one coordinated team, with your home protected from the first day to the last.

H1Most homes should start here

Attic Reset

$3,600 – $5,400

The starter package, and the one most homeowners ask for by name. Complete removal of old, settled, or damaged insulation — then the attic plane is rebuilt from scratch.

What's included

  • Full extraction and disposal of existing attic insulation
  • Closed-cell spray foam at every bypass: top plates, wire and plumbing penetrations, chimney chases, dropped soffits, recessed cans, attic hatch
  • Blown-in fill to R-49 minimum, R-60 where depth allows
  • Baffles, ventilation restored, hatch insulated and gasketed
  • Rebate paperwork filed on your behalf
Best for
Post-1960 ramblers and split-levels with intact walls and a vented attic.
Typical savings
Typical annual savings $220–$310
Best return on investment
H2

Envelope Reset

$8,400 – $12,500

Attic Reset plus the two areas that carry the biggest loss in a Utah home of this age: empty wall cavities and an unsealed rim joist. This is where the return lives.

What's included

  • Everything in H1 — Attic Reset
  • Injection or slow-rise foam into empty exterior wall cavities
  • Closed-cell spray foam at the full rim joist and band board perimeter
  • Sealing of the basement-to-attic stack path
  • Post-work blower door reading so you see the change, not just feel it
Best for
Any home built before 1980 with uninsulated walls.
Typical savings
Typical annual savings $640–$820
H3Complete envelope solution

Whole-Home Performance Retrofit

$14,000 – $21,000

The full envelope, treated as one connected system rather than five separate jobs. For homeowners who are staying put, renovating anyway, or done patching.

What's included

  • Everything in H2 — Envelope Reset
  • Crawl space encapsulation with closed-cell foam at stem walls
  • Duct sealing and duct insulation through unconditioned space
  • Combustion safety testing on the furnace and water heater after tightening
  • Written performance report: before and after air changes, R-values by assembly, photo documentation
Best for
2,000+ sq ft homes, homes with a persistent cold room, and anyone replacing HVAC within two years.
Typical savings
Typical annual savings $980–$1,240
H4Assessment-led

Heritage Brick Program

$6,000 – $18,000

A separate program for the solid-masonry and double-wythe brick homes of the Salt Lake valley — the Avenues, Sugar House, Liberty Wells, Capitol Hill, and the pre-war brick stock in Bountiful, Murray and Provo. These homes are the most under-insulated buildings in the state, and also the ones where insulation done carelessly causes real damage.

What's included

  • Wall construction assessment: solid multi-wythe brick or brick veneer over frame
  • Brick and mortar condition, frost resistance, prior spalling, and rain exposure
  • Grading, gutters and downspouts — bulk water management corrected first
  • Graduated insulation approach: moderate closed-cell thickness, vapor-open assemblies where brick is marginal
  • Honest recommendation: if brick is in poor condition, we say so
Best for
Pre-1945 brick homes in Salt Lake County.

Mountain Estate Envelope Program

Scoped per project

One home, multiple thermal zones, one coordinated plan — sold as an outcome rather than a product. The best insulation package is not the most expensive material everywhere; it is the right assembly everywhere.

What's included

  • Roof and vaults: spray foam, blown insulation or hybrid assemblies for condensation control
  • Walls: batts, blown systems, mineral wool, or exterior continuous insulation
  • Rim and cantilevers: air-sealed, high-detail transition work
  • Garage and bonus rooms: thermal and acoustic comfort
  • Radiant floors and heated driveways: load-rated insulation so purchased heat goes where you intended
  • Photo verification record delivered before walls, roof or concrete closes access
Best for
New construction and major remodels in Summit and Wasatch counties, plus historic Park City homes needing a preservation-aware upgrade.
Typical savings
Sold on comfort, system performance and lower rework risk — not payback tables
Optional Add-On

The White Glove Add-On

Retrofit work is dusty, disruptive and happens inside your house. These options exist so it doesn't have to feel that way. Pick only what you want — every item is optional and priced separately from your package.

Insulation removal is the messiest part of any retrofit. Decades of settled fiberglass, cellulose and attic dust get disturbed and pulled out through your home. Most contractors hand you a shop vac and an apology. We'd rather quote the cleanup properly up front and leave the house better than we found it.

Start With a Retrofit Package

Pick the package you are considering. Ranges reflect the spread across home sizes and assembly types; your exact figure is set at assessment. Not sure which fits? Leave it blank and we will recommend one.

Dust Containment & Air Quality

Controlling dust during the work matters more than cleaning it up afterwards.

Cleaning

Choose the level that suits the job. Basic cleanup is included in every package at no charge.

While the Work Happens

Most retrofits take one to three days. You do not have to be in the house for them.

How We Work With You

Included as standard

Included on every White Glove job, not charged as extras.

One named point of contact

The same person from first assessment through final walkthrough. No switchboard, no retelling the story to a new person each call.

Daily end-of-day update

A short message each evening: what got done, what's next, anything we found. Photos where relevant.

Scheduled arrival windows

A two-hour arrival window rather than a day, confirmed the evening before.

Shoe covers and clean-site standards

Covers on indoors, tools off finished surfaces, site tidied at the end of every day rather than only at the end of the job.

Final walkthrough before we invoice

We walk the work with you and resolve anything outstanding before the invoice is raised, not after.

30-day check-in

A call a month later to confirm the house is performing the way we said it would, and to catch anything that needs attention.

Prices shown are per-home unless marked otherwise and cover a standard single-family layout. Items marked 'quoted' depend on the size of the house or the number of nights and are confirmed at assessment. Your selections are an indication of interest, not a binding quote — final pricing is confirmed in writing before any work is scheduled.

Availability and pricing for each option are confirmed at assessment, since several depend on your home's size and layout. Nothing here is added to a quote unless you ask for it.

Build Your White Glove Package

Tick anything you'd like included and we'll price it into your assessment. Selecting an option commits you to nothing.

Nothing selected yet — that's fine, we can talk it through.

The Return, Calculated Honestly

Homeowners have been lied to about insulation payback for twenty years. The fastest way to win a Utah retrofit sale in 2026 is to be the only company in the driveway showing real arithmetic — including the parts that aren't flattering.

PackagePriceRebatesNet costSaves/yrPayback20-yr net
H1 — Attic Reset$4,400−$930$3,470$26510.5 yr+$4,840
H2 — Envelope ResetBest ROI$10,000−$1,500$8,500$7439.4 yr+$14,800
H3 — Whole-Home$17,000−$2,400$14,600$1,11310.5 yr+$20,300

Attic-only work has the weakest energy payback of the three packages. The walls are a third of the heat loss in a pre-1980 Utah home, and almost nobody has any wall insulation. That single fact is what makes H2 both the better product and the better investment.

Prices are midpoints of package ranges. Payback and 20-year figures assume 4.5% annual energy cost escalation, consistent with 2025–2026 rate actions of both Utah utilities. At flat energy prices, paybacks run 13–13.5 years instead. Actual performance depends on the home, assembly, weather, mechanical systems and how the owner operates the house.

Rebate Stacking — Your Competitive Advantage

Most Utah homes are served by Enbridge Gas for heat and Rocky Mountain Power for cooling. A well-scoped retrofit can claim from both programs — and Hansen files the paperwork for you.

The federal Section 25C Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit expired December 31, 2025. No federal tax credit applies to insulation projects completed in 2026 or later. Any contractor still promising a 30% federal credit is either careless or wrong.

Twelve Signs Your Home Is Ready for an Envelope Review

These signs don't prove an insulation defect on their own — they're reasons to inspect the complete roof, wall or floor assembly before choosing a repair.

Heavy or recurring ice at eaves or valleys
Water stains after freeze-thaw cycles
Uneven snow melt patterns on the roof
Frost or dark staining on attic sheathing
Cold bonus rooms over garages
Large room-to-room temperature swings
Drafts at rim joists, knee walls or attic hatches
Snowmelt or radiant systems that seem slow or costly
Visible gaps or compressed insulation
Condensation at cold surfaces
Wet, matted or displaced attic insulation
A home that feels uncomfortable despite premium HVAC

Recognize any of these? A free assessment takes about an hour and tells you exactly what's happening.
